Welcome to this episode from the original archives of the Miniphanies Podcast- long before it was renamed The Restoring Christianity Podcast. These throwback episodes were recorded during 2017–2019. These conversations capture a snapshot of my spiritual journey at that time—full of questions, passion, and honest searching. My time in seminary taught me to be unoffensive and sound more “universal.” Therefore, I wish to share a disclaimer.

In 2019, I was criticized for the information in these episodes and I removed them from the internet. But after much prayer, reflection, and soul-searching, I believe it is important to honor the process of spiritual growth and to encourage others who are also on a journey of transformation. When people meet with me for spiritual direction, I do not expect them to be on the same place in the journey. The actual point of mentorship and spiritual direction is meeting with someone who is farther along in the faith who WILL NOT JUDGE you for where you are— but with compassion and humility and love, will walk with you on the path for a while to bring you closer to the Lord. Spiritual direction shares wisdom, discernment, and guidance… and provides gems to the mentee. My prayer is that these mini-epiphanies will provide little gems of truth to you.
In a world where religious leaders are trying to erase and hide their pasts, I lay mine bare before you. I am not perfect. I am genuine; I was then and am now. I am loved by a perfect God whose loving kindness draws me in and makes me pursue him and help others pursue him with all we have, all we are- all our heart, mind, and soul. My convictions today are different then they were over 9 years ago. I hope you say the same- it’s a sign you’ve grown.
Thank you for listening with grace, curiosity, and an open heart as we all continue to grow—together. I pray the Lord will speak to you through this podcast, (old or new) and that both He and I will meet you exactly where you are and provide exactly what you need for the season you’re in.
